Stourbridge R.F.C. was founded in 1876 as a branch of the Stourbridge Cricket Club and shared the Cricket ground in Amblecote. As Association football flourished, the rugby section was ousted and from 1883 rugby football soldiered on in a variety of locations throughout the town, with the highlight being a mini golden era in the two seasons 1887-9 when only 4 games were lost out of a total of 37.

ImageStreets Revolution Oxford

Streets Revolution Oxford are a new organisation being set up to use football as a tool to engage marginalised sections of the community Homeless, Mental Illness, N.E.E.Ts, Ex Offenders, Drug and Alcohol Services.

If you feel you can help steer this group from its conception then please get in contact to express an interest.

Initially Street Revolution Oxford want to set up a steering group made up of 25 service users and would welcome suggestions from people about individuals who might want to join in.

To clarify, this would mean in the beginning setting up a drop-in training/coaching session for people and would develop into a programme of events and training opportunities to be linked in with other work already being carried out. Street Revolution Oxford believe there is a growing demand and a need to work together to make the opportunities and exit paths for these groups in conjunction with organisations and projects already out there.

Interested parties please contact Jon Regler jon@homelessworldcup.org.
